If you’re looking for a great movie about survival (literally!) with an unmoving location set, you might want to peek on these. 🙂
“Paul is a U.S. contractor working in Iraq. After an attack by a group of Iraqis he wakes to find he is buried alive inside a coffin. With only a lighter and a cell phone it’s a race against time to escape this claustrophobic death trap.” from IMDB, with a rating of 7.3.
I myself is a self-confessed claustrophobic lady so watching the movie was no easy feat for me despite how cute Reynolds is! But I’m really not so impressed with how they handled some things, the termination through phone, hello! Any person would know that its invalid due to his state of mind! And why waste the last cell of battery with unlikely, unhelpful conversations!? There are other acts that piss me off but that’s i guess that’s alright because in reality, Life can get much more stupid than that! 🙂 Also, I’ve gone teary-eyed towards the last will and testament scene all throughout the ending. It was kinda really sad. With all honesty, I myself would not really know what to do in that death-or-life situation so I pray hard for it to happen only in movies.
“A mountain climber becomes trapped under a boulder while canyoneering alone near Moab, Utah and resorts to desperate measures in order to survive.” from IMDB, with a rating of 8 (slightly higher).
Another crush starred in this true-to-life inspired movie, James Franco from Spider-Man series. For me its a movie dragged for 127 hours but I guess desperate situations call for desperate measures and his desperation did not come until the 127th hour! 🙂 It also teaches adventure lovers and/or travel enthusiasts like me to always be well-prepared and to always take safety precautions when on the road/streets no matter how familiar you are to the territory.
That’s it for my weekend movie marathon. Enjoy the Sunday feeling and don’t forget to worship – it’s a must for our survival too!
