Who wouldn’t recognise, admire and adore a darLing such as Audrey Hepburn? An Oscar-winning (for Roman Holiday) actress who found her niche in modeling and film industry. Born in Belgium in a wealthy family but then was not spared from depression and malnutrition during Hitler’s time. From 1988 – 1993 she served as a special Ambassador to the United Nations UNICEF fund helping children in Africa and Latin America. In 1993 she died because of DREADED C (appendicular cancer). She was named by People’s Magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world. She left the limelight while still on top. And even though her plum roles happened between late 40’s to late 60’s, my generation still adores her and regard her and her life as an inspiration. Her classic films such as Breakfast @ Tiffany’s, Roman Holiday and My Fair Lady will always be appreciated and will never be forgotten not just by my wave mates but the future Gen as well.
